Since late 2020, I have written more than 20 business plans for health and fitness start-ups. Every plan is professionally written by myself and my small team. They’re also competitively priced so they won’t blow your budget.
The first step you need to do when you write a Business Plan, or when someone writes one for you, is called “Discovery”. You need to fully understand (discover):
This step also identifies what information you don’t have—so we can gather it for you.
If you do this yourself, or if you ask us to do it for you, the process is exactly the same. You or we gather and analyse the necessary information, such as:
This ensures your business plan not only attracts investment or helps you secure a lease but also serves as a powerful ongoing Business Planning tool to grow your business.
Market research: If you are doing it yourself, you will gather competitor, industry, and local market data – this should be around 6-to-8 pages in length. Use only trusted sources of data from reputable market research companies.
This ensures your Plan is strong enough to not only attain both national and state accreditation, but also to serve as a roadmap for business growth.
Risk matrices should describe risk types and categorise it. Aim for at least four pages of these.
Financials should include projections for revenue / sales, costs, expenses, and cash flow to create your Profit & Loss, Cashflow, and Balance Sheet. Do these at a monthly level for the first years.
The Podcast will talk about the importance of allowing time to do two drafts. A good Business Plan needs to hang together well and the different Sections need to support each other and all make sense once read in one go. This will help you both secure investment or a potential lease. The Podcast talks about this in more detail but briefly, when you are reviewing your first attempt or draft, you should be looking to have or improve:
The Podcast then talks about, if you have written the Plan yourself, either the first draft and/or two drafts, now is a great time to get it checked by an Expert. If you are nervous about the financial sections, the Podcast recommends you talk to your Accountant; if you are nervous about the legals, you can talk to your Lawyer. Of, if you prefer to get all of this done with one single professional, a Business Plan Writer can help.
