By listening to this Podcast, you will learn:

  • If it is viable and a good idea for you to write your own Business Plan.
  • If you do decide to write your own Business Plan, the Podcast will give you a top-line view of how to do it.
  • If you decide to get help, the Podcast will help you understand which parts of Sections you may need help with and which you can do yourself – this should help you save time and money.

Firstly, the Podcast will take you through what is involved:

  • Step 1 – Discovery
  • Step 2 – Research analysis
  • Step 3 – Design and writing
  • Step 4 – Financial information gathering (from external sources)
    • Profit & Loss, Cashflow, and Balance Sheet
    • Projections out for three or five years

Since late 2020, I have written 23 RTO Business Plans and I’m delighted to say that every single one has RTO registration with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). All of my plans are professionally written by myself and my small team, and they’re competitively priced so they won’t blow your budget.

How to go about your discovery step yourself (or with a Business Plan Writer)

The first step you need to do when you write a Business Plan, or when someone writes one for you, is called “Discovery”.

You might want to:

  • Start as a single-course, local RTO provider, or
  • Build a national, multi-disciplinary RTO provider online or across multiple locations.

This step also highlights any gaps in the information you have, so we can gather it for you.

How to do the research analysis for your Business Plan – or to hire an Expert

From here, you can relax while my team collects and analyses all the necessary information for your plan, including:

  • Market research
  • Risk matrices
  • Financials: projections for revenue / sales, costs, expenses, and cash flow to create your Profit & Loss, Cashflow, and Balance Sheet.
  • SWOT analysis

This ensures your plan is strong enough to not only pass an audit but also to serve as a roadmap for business growth.

Designing and writing your Business Plan document

The Podcast will talk about the importance of allowing time to do two drafts. A good Business Plan that needs a bank loan needs to hang together well and the different Sections need to support each other and all make sense once read in one go. The Podcast talks about this in more detail but briefly, when you are reviewing your first attempt or draft, you should be looking to have or improve:

  • Clear written content
  • Charts, pictures, and graphs
  • Detailed financial tables

Finalisation

The Podcast then talks about, if you have written the Plan yourself, either the first draft and/or two drafts, now is a great time to get it checked by an Expert. If you are nervous about the financial sections, the Podcast recommends you talk to your Accountant; if you are nervous about the legals, you can talk to your Lawyer. Of, if you prefer to get all of this done with one single professional, a Business Plan Writer can help.

You can then confidently present your plan to ASQA together with your registration application.
