Market analysis and research is tricky because you need to be ready to access at least two or three reputable sources of market research. You need to look at them, and understand how they apply to your suburbs and city, or to the aged care services you want to provide. This is not as daunting as it sounds. A trip to your local library and a helpful librarian will easily point you in the right direction. If you choose to do research on the internet, start with the Australian Bureau of Statistic (ABS);they will also help you either online or in some cases, by phone.

Financial analysis. Templates abound on the internet to do the required three statements:
- Profit and Loss
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow

These three statements are vitally important to start your business. The business.gov.au website has great instructions, too.

If you are in any way under–confident about your abilities in these two skills, then you can either get this done as part of a business plan, get this done separately from a business plan, or quickly acquire the skills through a reputable online training program (such as those offered by the government’s NEIS program or TAFE).
